Had some bad news today about Disco 1

Can I ask how much it would cost (roughly) for box section and where you could buy from? Obviously don't walk into B&Q!

    Waxoyl service near Edinburgh?

I looked into this last year and was quoted around £400 for my Discovery. Enquired through waxoyl site (I think).

    Can this be welded?

That's what I'd hoped James. Never welded so asked those "in the know".

    Can this be welded?

Cheers Gems, the part costs around £40. I've got the metal, I just need someone to weld it. How much would be reasonable to pay for welding

    Can this be welded?

I knew about the arches but wondered if it would be both worth it and be cost effective.

    Can this be welded?

As a Land Rover owner who has never welded, I know, what's the chances of that happening eh? Anyway, Discovery 300, rear door wheel arch has a slight whole.. Is it weldabubble?

What about an isolator switch? Where/how is this done? If it's a common upgrade then I'll do a search. Cheers

    My battery woes..

Thanks for the tips. First off I'm borrowing my fathers charger to make sure it's full charged. Will test the fuses using Kwakermans' tip. Solar trickle charger looks like the way forward. Now, the idiot question.. Would I be able to use a solar charger ok if I use a battery isolator?

    My battery woes..

Any ideas as to what could be causing the drain? I honestly thought that that amount of drain would not cause the battery to go flat over night.

    My battery woes..

It's got a 5 year warranty. Not used much and it's the right size. Will probably have to bring it inside and put it on a proper charger to get it back to normal. Pain bringing it in and ut every time I use it though. Something's not right..

    My battery woes..

Long story short. Original battery replaced after 18 months; replacement sent out and I'm now starting to have the same problem after about a year. Needs a jump start now the weather is turning and I can't be ar**ed doing this every time I want to drive it; it's not my daily. Took a reading...

Anyone know anything about this D2...?

Looks smart enough & I actually like the cream leather. It's what you don't see in the advert that you really do need to see; underneath. You'd really need to have a look yourself or, get an AA/RAC inspection would be money well spent. Good luck!

My first Land Rover - tow car!

The first car I bought was a Lada Riva estate! Bought it 2 years old for £1800, sold it a year later for £2600! Not nearly as bad as made out, I went on to have 3 Lada Niva's (4wd). Loved them.
