Freelander 2001 TD4 OBDII Socket or Not??

Hi Hippo, Been looking at the hawkeye, just one question really, you have already answered most. The licence, when it says a different model, am I safe in assuming that coded for FL1 Td4, would mean I could read any FL1 Td4, but would have to buy another licence for Disco Td4. But I could read...

converted freelander done 65000 klm in 1.5years

A work colleague has a smart car, the sporty one, he loves it, however complains about fuel economy and that he has to put expensive gogo juice in it. i think for the size and weight of the Td4 it is quite efficient.

What have you done to your Freelander today

I went to view the new to us one, on my way home. Currently without wheels suspended on a four post. Disks are ok on the front, still no sign of rest. Considering getting new callipers, rather than a refurb.

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

Hi again thanks for the replies. Front near side wheel, suspect bearing, but wouldn't be surprised at a seizure caliper, but as they are being powder coated they will be stripped and serviced accordingly. By the time I get back from work, everything should be done. Git history with the...

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

Yep, been thinking about that for an Auto, could I just put it in manual and select 1st for the one wheel test ? Drove it around 90 miles today, VCU comfortable to touch with your hand but not for long, nearside wheel NOT comfortable to touch at all, PSI for rear nearside tyre 15, the rest...

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

Yes I know re: rotting away in Blackpool ;) first registered in Canterbury, I think it was used to commute to London 60k first 3 years.. but then again my Audi was at 80k by that point, and i traveled north and south so may be more to it. Saw an 04 RR for sale in Southport today, looks nice...

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

You may well be correct Wammers, its why I looked for this model and of decent quality, 3 door diesel td4 2004-early 2006, I don't mind spending the money on a vehicle to get it correct. Spare parts are easy to get, even major components, gearbox for mine £175 replaced clutch at same time £500...

I think FL is a great vehicle, easily understandable why LR sold so many and created a market

Thanks Nodge, I get what you mean now, pretty sure the nearside rear is losing air. will check air pressures in the morning then go and get a quote for refurb and tyre replacement. Tyres on the front seem OK, £53 each, Landsail SUV multiseason, so might go with 3 of these. However I know good...

Freelander TD4 starting after several tries. (FIXED)

Hi Charlot, Whats your battery condition like ? last time it was changed ? When I have had problems with diesels of any make starting in cold weather, its been down to the battery even when my audi was only 3 years old. If you put jump leads on to it does it start immediately would be a good...

Wammers, thanks and yes we are members of a breakdown service comes with the insurance. always makes sense to have breakdown cover, think we are getting it for the boat as well. NOG68, I would have preferred to change tyres before making the journey, however advert said all in good shape, so...

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

Thanks all, for replies. Tyres, front two the same, rear both different and borderline, spoke with the Mrs tonight to get all five tyres done to the same spec due to the effect we could have on the VCU. Having driven it for 120 miles, mainly on the motorway, at a constant speed, very happy with...

Freelander 1 Mrs has now purchased a FL1

Just got back from Birmingham where my Mrs found this for sale yesterday. Looks OK, 54 plate auto sport Td4, 3dr, leather seats, heated front screen. Needs a few minor scuffs sorted, 3 new tyres, off side wing mirror glass, CL fixed already ( new battery ). I heard a noise and vibration when...

Thanks TurboMan, but no way of doing that, have track access now so no need to drive that route anymore. The Q7 was good, looks like I will meet up with the Audi team again on my next job, tell you about it next week. They didn't bother to try and sell me a Q7 as they said you can't beat a LR...
