Original Freelander Radio information needed please

I wouldn't waste your money on one, we had a 2001 Freelander from new and the standard radio cassette player was rubbish. We soon replaced it with a better one. Far better replacing with one you like after trying it out.

    Drop links!

I have ordered 2 drop links from the Land Rover dealer and will check that the anti roll bar is in the correct position when fitting them :)

    rear wash wipe problem

I would check the wiring loom where it passes through the into the tailgate door - wiring might be split.

Central (un) locking not working properly.

And just to confuse further  The key in the tailgate lock is to put up the window, to put it down press and hold the unlock button on the fob until the window goes down.

Have you got different makes of tyre on each wheel, my 1998 Freelander was all over the road until I fitted same make tyres, now its fine.

how much do we really like our f.ls

I agree on the interior of the face lifted version ours was 3 years old when we bought it and the drivers seat was showing signs of wear (now replaced with a leather interior) where as the seats in my 1998 car still look as good as new.

    Auto locking on td4

I think this can be programmed with the Freelander unless I am getting confused with the Disco - would need to be done by main dealer or someone with Testbook diagnostics

    Drop links!

I have had to replace these a few times but lately they are just not lasting, I bought a set on ebay and the lasted 3 months before starting to knock again and the rubber dust covers were perished and split - terrible quality. The latest set were fitted at the end of July this year and I...

brake caliper piston dust cover replace

I have fitted new piston seals a few times on Manta Calipers but the procedure is the same.. Good advice above about cleaning with wet and dry. Sometimes the pistons are difficult to get out, if you have a compressor just fit the air line into the brake hose hole in the caliper and the piston...

    fitting heated wondscreen in mk1

Even if the wiring was not present I would think it would be quite simple to run a power feed via a relay and switch etc.

    Is a 1998 2.0d worth £200?

:D or ribbed and dotted ;) My 1998 has no rot, I am impressed at is condition underneath considering its age. Things like calipers can be picked up s/h for a not a lot of cash.

Freelander roof bars and luggage cover

I made the mistake of buying a 5 door roller type cover thinking it would fit a 3 door but it doesn't -its slightly too long, in fact its almost slightly too long for a 5 door lol. I guess you could make one fit by opening it up, cutting down the case and trimming the roller part. 3 door rigid...
