When working on a car and a part is stated as being sided, which is right and which is left side of the car? Looking from front or from rear? I have to change my track rod ends and I am sure it will be obvious, but they are marked left and right.

You don't replace the current stat, you add a second stat to a hose at the front of the engine. Very easy to do.

I will leave mine on this year and see what happens in July. I replaced the egr last year and removed it again after the test.

Is it possible to grip the cable just after the lever in the cab with a pliers and pull to open it? Or, is it possible to remove the lever from it's fixing and pull it hard?

No, for some reason I was under the impression that I had read somewhere that some models at least had a lever to make the adjustment. Probably old age on my part sadly.

I understand that some FL's havea lever that adjusts the headlight beams for driving on the continent. If this is correct, where exacltly is this lever and was it only for certain models?

What about something like this, assuming you have a laptop. It might help you locate exactly where it is and isn't that expensive. Some of them have a mirror attachment that alows a view from the side...
