I used washing liquid on mine and the improvement was very short lived.

All done now :D. I managed to use a piece of wood to use as a lever to put pressure on the top of the ball joint and it allowed me to tighten it.

Yes, the ball joint. A nice cold drink to help me calm down and I will take another look. They are Lemforder track rod ends.

As it was a bit cooler today, I thought I would replace the track rod ends on my 06 FL1 TD4. Simple job, I thought. Won't take long. I am still working on drivers side. Took me ages to get the nuts off. I am guessing that they are the original ones from the factory judging by the look of them...

I am limited at what I can source here at work. I was lucky to find some short lengths of earth cable. I can pop into halfrauds on way home if it lasts that long.

I have just found some electrical cable I will try a temporary fix with that.

Drove to work this morning and there was a rumbling sound on occasions. I checked underneath and found that the rear exhaust box has lost its rubbers and is swinging side to side. I don't have any way to do a temporary holding job so do I risk driving 20 miles back home after work or does this...

I have replaced two window actuators during the 8 years I have had the car but not this one. Oh well, I will have to wait for cooler weather as I am not a sun worshiper and keep out of it.

My 06 TD4 has developed a rattly drivers side front window. I can sometimes stop it by pushing the glass one way or another, at least for a while. Would I be right in thinking the bolt that holds the glass to the lifting mechanism is likely to have come loose or can there be another reason?

I have changed track rod ends many times on other cars and need to replace the ones on my 06 FL1 due to slight play on an advisory during the last mot. I assume there is nothing I should be aware of regarding replacing them on a FL?

What's the best way to drain the steering fluid? I am sure that mine could do with a change.

Looks very useful but I would be worried about breaking my neck after a few sherberts. :D

I had multiple failiures on a Vauxhall Zafira. Replacing the CCU fixed the issues.
