    Freelander 1 fishtank in boot

In my case when I had water in the cubby hole and not in the boot area generally. I discovered it was road surface water splashing up and entering where the cubby hole is welded to the floor. I removed the carpet and sealed all around with silicon. That was several years ago and no water has...

    Spare wheel problem

If all nuts off perhaps whack it with a hammer to crack any seal. Make sure no other fixings attached first though.

    Thermostat

I had this issue on my 06 TD4. I added the second stat and have had lots of warmth and quickly since doing it. Quite an easy mod to do. Loads of discussions about it on here.

Freelander 1 what £150 gets ya!

I purchased my FL1 about 9 years ago in September. That first year on my last night shift before annual leave over the Christmas period, I had to dig my FL out of the snow as it had snowed very heavily overnight. I drove 20 miles home in untouched, non gritted very deep snow at 6.AM and it...

    TomTom

I have inbuilt sat nav in the wife's clio. I think it is awful and potentially dangerous as it doesn't give the warning about changing lane until it is usually too late. In other cars, I have always used Tom Tom with my very old TT Go 300. One of the first devices. It has been fantastic. So...

    TomTom

Play around with the position of it. You may get lucky. I seem to recall that you can get an antennae for Tom Tom units to overcome this if need be.

problem tightening wishbone ball joint nuts

I thought exactly the same but it passed the MOT so must be ok.

    Cv joint

I run my TD4 at 32psi because I like the feel of the ride it gives.

Freelander How to install lock nuts?

Any hole. One on each wheel.

Freelander How to install lock nuts?

If you mean the one locking nut on each wheel, it can go on any stud.

Swapping my rear 2 seats for 3 seats

I have had my TD4 2006 for 8 years now, and the only issues have been clutch renewed twice and a couple of window cables. It has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever had.

    Air Filter Question

I have tried both and saw / felt no difference in performance on my 2006 TD4.

Freelander 1 Lag on moving off.

I am either getting voluntary redundancy or taking early retirement at the end of August, so I will offer the car for sale on here. It's only done 75k and has been very reliable in the 8 or so years I have had it. I will only ask for the cost of 4 x new tyres for my wife's Clio. I want it to go...

Freelander 1 Lag on moving off.

Well, it has improved but there does still seem to be a bit of lag there. I have not touched the ronbox for a very long time so doubt it is that, unless it is beginning to fail. I am no mechanic, I get advice from this web site and by reading the Haynes manual but I do suspect it could be time...

Freelander 1 Passed MOT with EGR blank.

I took a chance this year and decided to leave the egr blank in place on my TD4 2006. I had an awful feeling that it would fail on something. Just a feeling, no evidence of anything except the blank. To my surprise, it passed with just two advisories. Sadly, it is looking like I may be saying...

Freelander 1 Lag on moving off.

The FL was better today driving home from work. Not as it should be but definitely an improvement, so perhaps it is just the weather. We shall see.

Freelander 1 Lag on moving off.

Possible. I am aware the FL1 does not like the heat and the performance is noticeable. I am wondering if perhaps I dislodged a pipe when I replaced the track rod ends. I can't investigate until Sunday due to long shifts at work. Roll on retirement.
