Does anyone know why my TomTom Via135 is not receiving a signal in my 2013 Freelander 2. If I open the side window and put it outside it works. What is blocking the signal inside.

YesDoes your Freelander have a heated front screen?
heated screen shouldn't stop it, have my garmin suckered to my window (heated) works fine.
Get a Garmin, but try it first. I'm sure the Garmin has a better receiver, designed to overcome the masking effects of the HFSThanks for your reply, looks like I need a new sat nav.
Depends on the sensitivity of the signal receiving device. If my crappy old iphone can work just fine as a sat nav through my heated screen then surely a proper sat nav should also.
Tom Tom have a week receiver, probably to sell additional accessories. Garmin are designed to work with the HFS, so it's the sensible choice. If my crappy old iphone can work just fine as a sat nav through my heated screen then surely a proper sat nav should also.
To be honest, with the quality of mapping available nowadays I'll stick with my phone which works a treat
The Discovery 3 nav wasn't great, when compared to Google maps.My F2 has factory sat nav fitted but its so user unfriendly when compared to the google mapping software. Why anyone would order a new car with it is beyond me.
It does. I'm going up to Wembley at the weekend, for the England V Germany ladies football match.Yer can't beat having a sat nav when yer in London and asked to travel half a mile south to a different site which includes getting across the Thames. Makes life so easy
