Right so I've just phoned euro car parts and told them I want a complete new set, was told I'd have to purchase all and they'd send the old ones off for testing then if there's a problem they will refund me for X number of injectors. So no new set of 4. Even if I bought 2 new ones there mighto...

If it turns out to be injector related, I will be on the war path with euro car parts. Although they are still under warranty till November so could play up and get a full set.

Ah, good to know. I thought it was the opposite, if there's a noticeable difference when it's unplugged then it's dead. I shall order a new one today

It doesnt seem so bad on the video. Should hear it in person! Sounds like something vital wants out. I've spent many hours on the Google machine but a lot of what sounds similar there's no solution just the post asking for help

Maf is currently unplugged. Doesn't drive any differently to when it was plugged in. I might give one of the 25 pound ones ago just so I know all is good

Not the best video but you can hear the clattering in amongst the wind noise. It is actually a lot louder than it seems and it's driving me mad.

Checked the glow plugs yesterday all were pretty much exactly the same resistance, so confident that they're ok. I've used about 3 tanks of texaco supreme diesel since changing the second injector, clattering noise is still there. I'll try and record it tomorrow and post it on here. Starting...

dont go too mad with it or youll melt the plastic. i was surprised the first time i tried how well it works

pressure wash it to get all the crap off and then use a heat gun over it. only need to gently warm the plastic, youll see it change colour. lasts a lot longer than anything you can put on the plastic

tbh i think the glow plugs are ok, but worth checking as joe said 2 out of the 4 new injectors have been faulty and the plugs were from the same place at the same time.

what would be the best way of testing them mate? ive changed the fuel filter this morning and she fired up straight away, little puff of white smoke and cleared straight away.

Haha. You could be on to something mate. Over the next few weeks I'll be replacing all the vaccume pipes, old ones have seen better days, so I may just put a new set of glow plugs in for sh!ts and giggles.

thanks both, glow plugs were changed by the previous owner at the same time as the injectors. i did have words about changing the full set but agreed that id have the one replacement but if another fails ill be on the war path for all 4 with a brand new warranty. ill give it a few days and see...

basically, the previous owner bought it as a non runner for his dad, apparently it had an injector fault and replaced all 4 as a set. i then purchased it and after a while had a problem with number 4 injector ( was misfiring and smoking, struggling to start) so that got replaced under warranty...

yeah will give it few days see what happens. been using tidy fuel for a few months now. may stick a fuel additive in it just to make sure the others are clean

chenged the injector today under warranty, stuff actually happens now when i press the go pedal, slight clattering noise still there though, not sure what it is. also chnged the oil and filter same time.
