hi thanks everyone for your replys but the gearbox has no ecu inside it only has the external ecu of which i have to erase the adaptaions to re learn the ecu thanks again

I have known other later gearboxes autos that do have an ecu in the gearbox mercs do and i spoke to land-rover they said it has and would need programing but not sure if they are telling the truth and the original box is OK drive wise just rattles and smells of burning oil ??

hi ive got a 2014 last gen freelander 2 2.2 automatic 6 speed now the gearbox is bust ive found an identical one i know there is an external ecu that i will just swap over but ive been told there may be an internal ecu that needs to be programed to the car ? does anyone know if this is true ...

Right it starts OK but I have to wait for a few minutes for the fuel gauge to work and if I put it in drive before the fuel gauge works it won't accelerate but if I put it back in park it all starts working OK?????
