I think I am that tool given how long the RH side took. LH went in much quicker - only 30 mins.

Job done. Time per side: to remove and clean paintwork and glass - 15 mins; to fit seal and replace glass - 10 mins; to fit the sealing strip - anytime up to 2 hours!!!

Hello, I have a 3 door Disco 1 and want to change the perished Alpine Window seals. The part numbers I have found are AWR 1146 and 1147. Would I be correct in thinking the alpine windows are the same size on the 3 door and the 5 door versions? Many thanks

I can recommend JK 4x4 at Clutton. They did a superb job on replacing the rear quarter chassis on my Series 3. They specialise in Land Rovers - old school workshop on a farm industrial estate at Clutton Hill.

So, I managed to source a seal for the RH side rear most window, but the LH side part no AWR5387 is proving 'elusive' to say the least. Apart from making one (which may be doable) has anyone heard of some NOS stock being kept by someone? Many thanks.

Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. If push comes to shove its worth a go as the 5 door seals seem to be a reasonable price.

Thinking about it, I had the whole dash and ignition switch out last year to draw and refurb the steering box. Maybe the bashing of the ignition switch lock nuts has caused a problem with the ignition switch. Easy to replace, but apparenty difficult to source a spare or salvaged part I hear.

Thanks for getting back to me, I just tried a lead from Battery +VE to the solenoid actuator terminal and it clicks but no action (had the ignition switched to dash lights on). So, I guess the starter motor has had its day. New one on Tuesday methinks.

Thanks to people who looks at this, it turned out to be a new sensor required - PRC8593. So the temp guage is connected directly to the sensor unit even on the MPI as the dash has never been removed for rewiring.
