    Thanks for all the replies. Have adjusted the steering stops for now, which has obviously worked. Will decide whether to stay this way or try the spacer optiion once I see how much of a difference its going to make when I'm reversing my trailer into some of the blooming tight places it needs to go!!

    Thanks MHM. Offset. Can't believe I never thought of that, simple now that I do think about it. Doh!!! Got another set of wheels in garage I think (Tyres may be a bit suspect) so I'll stick them on to check.

    Thought about polybushing mine but was put off by LR mechanic who said they "dry out and squeak like bu****y". Just saying. Still fancy doing it eventually though.

    That's mice mate. Could try copperslip on the bolts. Could just be bit of dirt thats got in, might wear out. Don't use copper grease on the rubber though, use that red rubber grease stuff. Gotta hate a squeak.

    Recognise that one too. Do you have a photo showing more of the engine in it? Not got a freelander about any more to check but had my old one apart for various things in the past. Have you dragged it up for the photo? Thinking lambda sensor.

    Definitely ribbed. Mine's smooth and is horrible when it's windy or at speed. Think of wobbling a sheet of thin aluminium!!!
