when pressing the hi - lo button and nothing is displayed on the dash panel then you have a electrical glitch ! Manual box has to be in neutral and vehicle stationary for motor to engage lo box - and if you are not, the dash tells you to do so.

owned one back in '76, was fun but bloody thirsty even back then, draughty, noisy, damn awkward to change gear at times, heavy steering and not the best to reverse with. One is used down here on the lanes and it is just a bit large at times.

have a look at the wheels fitted to Ifor Williams trailers as they are 5 stud and might be the same pcd - come in 12" or 13". Limiting factor besides clearing the drums is going to be spring shackles or diffs

one tip for you to do with the nikon, take a correctly exposed shot - print it, then adjust the monitor brightness to be the same as the taken shot = very easy to take manual exposure shots then, also be aware that the light levels are set for California so always use the "cloudy" setting in UK...

go for it pikey, they do work well, try and use it on manual exposure - but on all auto they are good. nikon have the advantage of every lens ever made will fit as the bayonet fitting is still the same ( loss of auto focus and auto exposure with early lens's - but there is a focus indicator)...

check your wheel bearings again - had it happen twice now on different Disco's inner front wheel bearings seizes and spins the bearing on the stub axle

Only one ECU less and one that is not known for trouble. The diesel is better suited to the auto box as there is no power low down the rev range which equals a lot of clutch slipping pulling away on a slope when loaded. not having to slip my clutch more that I did on my 110, only advantage...

Having now owned my P38dt for 3 months all I can say is get one!! Be prepared to put some time in to make sure EAS works properly (software and lead = sorted). By the nature of the beast they will not have been abused off road as the equivelant Disco or classic may have been, so no nasty...
