    Thanks Stretch, i did remove the sump and steam cleaned it and fitted a new filter and sump gasket, the outside of the engine got the same treatment as did the head gasket. If what your saying is a popular opinion i will just fill it back up with clean oil and change after a couple hundred miles...

    That's probably the stuff i have heard of, when i took the head off to have a look it looked quite manky in there so thought it would be a good idea to try and get the inside as clean as possible without having to strip the engine.

    i have started to build up the brake pipe system on the rolling chassis and i dont think the way i have my flexi pipe joining the solid pipe on the front axle swivel housing is correct, could anyone shed some light on it? it should not be this slack should i be using a nut to fix the flexi pipe...

    Looking great, grey is a great colour for it. As for your fuel sender try renewing it / beefing up the earth this seems to be a common issue and is normally solved with an earth lead.

    When I stripped my landy down I took 24hrs to mentally prepare myself for a right good battle and the bloody things undid like they were brand new bolts and the steering relay lifted out no problem, it looked like it hadn't been touched in a very long time couldn't believe it!     I bought some engine enamel from "Paint Man" and gave the engine its first coat at 12.30 this afternoon, how long should it be left before its next coat??? Cant find any info on drying times on their website and dont want to apply the second coat too early as i hate it when it never seems to...
