Billy, I would be inclined to check the oil level in the gearbox first if you are actually losing drive, as that would tend to suggest a gearbox or torque converter problem IMO. Has it ever had the gearbox oil and filter changed? Tony

+1, they "float" on a bed of oil, so there is always play unless there is oil pressure. Tony

+1. Get yourself some of these valves with a length of the pipe as an emergency kit, as many carry, and then you can just pump it up to the required height until you can fix it. An later carry as an emergency kit. Here...

Go and see Paul, he is most likely, if you talk to him nicely, to plug it in and fit another BCU and/or IDM to try to see if that resolves it for you. He is a great, REALLY helpful bloke. Tony

Mark, Unless are absolutely 100% sure it works, I would be inclined to swap the RF receiver with a known good working one before trying anything else. If that doesn't resolve it, only then look elsewhere. Tony

If you have ACE, check the rams, and the pipes to and from, as they are roughly just above where it seems to be, if someone has put ATF in it. If not then must be steering box or the pipes to and from. Common one is the one that runs across the car below the radiator, you cant see it, again...

IMO the ride with air is much better, and many think the same. The bags are so easy to change, and should be done as a service item every 5 or 6 years. Tony

Grumbly release bearings are very common, even when just changed. I would be looking for other reasons before going to the effort and expense of changing the DMF and clutch. Tony

If you change it, make sure you replace it with only genuine Land Rover, NOT an OEM, it must come in a LR packet... Good opportunity to check the injector lash as well...Also write down the injector codes while you have the top off and if you can sometime check with a Nanocom or similar that...

See attached for sensor readings. Also check red plug on ECU for oil, as its a common problem that the injector loom gets full of oil and it ends up in the red plug and if allowed to continue, works its way INTO the ECU as well. Tony
