Should never be more than 50/50 some cars are less, i don't know why but to much anti freeze will make your engine over heat but water on its own can make the cylinders over heat.

For anyone who cares P38 all up and running now, head gasket had failed between cylinders 5 and 6, and because owner carried on driving it till it stopped it damaged the head, also water pipes corroded through so a replacment head fitted, engine oil was like syrup anorl

Finaly got go ahead from owner to remove cylinder head to carry out further inspection and found head gasket failed between cylinders 5 and 6 as i suspected. Don't know how long its been blowing for untill it wouldn't start any more but it's burnt quite a bit off of the head :(

Managed to spend a bit of time on this at the weekend and come to the conclusion that the head gasket between cylinder 5 and 6 has failed is this a known problem?? Now waiting for owner to decide weather they want to procede and have the cyl head taken off.

Adapters were about £300 got them through ebay am thinking of selling them and the wheels.
