As Dave says, probably propshaft related. Ours had exactly the same symptoms at the same speeds and it turned out to be one of the u/j's in the double joint on the front propshaft. I got a GKN one from island 4x4 and I think it was only about £15-00.

Just a quick update on this. I had another look at it about 2 weeks ago and the yokes were out of line by one or two splines. Pulled it apart again at the sliding joint and re-fitted with the yokes in line and by using the grease nipple as a guide. Amazing how much easier it was when it...

That looks to be the problem. His shocks sit forward like that too. To the other posters, there is a definite area of scraping on the cone but there is just a tad more clearance on the n/s and that doesn't catch.

Is it alright to use a 10W40 fully synthetic oil in the TD5 engine. The Haynes manual says 5W40 but I have 10 litres of 10W40 spare after my BMW was written off. Thanks.
