Just been quoted £290 for a new key from the local main dealer. Trouble is their machine for coding the key to the vehicle is broken and they don't know when they will be getting a replacement!

Greg, I had read about that one too and I was planning on changing them both. However, if it is relatively easy to change, I might as well do it first and see if that improves things. If not I will have to do the main stat as well. Thanks, Glen.

Sounds like that could well be my problem then. It doesn't look to b too difficult, or expensive to change, so probably worth doing to eliminate it anyway

Ok thanks. I have been searching the heated seat issue and it appears that there can be problems with the connectors and the wires leading to the elements. Given that the seat heated fine a few days ago, I am hoping it might be this. Will have to get the multi-meter out and do some testing...
