Don't understand why the drivers door won't open 'mechanically' with the key...... Do you not have a spare key for it? I recently changed my fob battery with no issue, did you change battery immediately after removing the old one or leave it a while with no battery in?

Give the tyres a good examine in the tread. Same problem happened on my old D2, it turned out one of the tyres was badly dis-formed and bulging on one side (in the tread) causing the issue. Or swap front wheels to back and try? HTH.
