Well so far this weekend I did 60 miles to £20 which is only 16mpg and I'm sure I should be getting more, I did have the evry mod but didn't like it so I'm tempted to do the same and fit a manual pump to see if I get better mpg

Rock sliders are fitted, just got a bulb/wiring to fix and then two copper rear brake lines to replace then fit the front extended brake hoses, and the rear trailing arm bushes and then finally ready for it's MOT!

Cheers man! Went and picked up the tyres and rims today to get them fitted at work and finally got to take a look at my rock sliders! Then attempted to fit the rims and tyres in the back of the golf and succeeded!

Sounds like a good plan you've got there, I'll be keeping an eye seeing how you get on :)

Very small update but all the welding is finally done, tyres are on order, extended brake lines fitted and had custom rock sliders made by a local company. Will hopefully get some photos by the weekend :) Only photo I got of the rock sliders being made:

Yeah I've seen discos being broken for bits/scrapped as people can't be bothered to save them, but I don't mind as getting all the welding done for a reasonable price
