    sliding front windows

Surely the easiest way is to buy series doors, door tops and glass (but you would have to paint them), or compete secondhand doors. If you have space to keep the defender doors it would be easy to revert back to original for nothing. Otherwise sell them to pay towards the series doors.

    Electronic ignition 3.5 v8

1,000 miles per year, at 16mpg that's 284 litres. Petrol is £1.30 per litre, I guess LPG is half that (from what I heard) so you would save £184 per year. It would take a lot of years for LPG to pay for itself, even if you manage to achieve the same mpg with petrol and lpg. ... nothing wrong...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Fitted noise killer front kit to my 110 V8. Together with the bellhousing blanket it has been transformational, now a pleasure to hear rather than a pain. Being a V8 and they don't make a kit for the V8 there was some modification required to the transmission tunnel area but not too hard.

    Electronic ignition 3.5 v8

You're looking from better mpg from the v8? What are you getting economy - wise? How many miles do you plan to do each year? My approach is to leave it alone and spend the money saved on fuel, but if you want to experiment don't do it to save money because it probably won't.

    3.5 fuel pump ticking continuously

When I turn on ignition on my 110 v8, continuous pump noise plus sound of fuel dropping back into the tank. Runs great, 16 mpg. (4 litre). Full choke to start, then half, drive away, reduce choke to nothing while in motion, half again if in traffic. One mile down the road choke off...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Did you look into pop door kits? These are usually used on modified cars when they want to remove the external locks and handles. I understand central locking has a lot of moving parts that have to work with the existing mechanisms, whereas pop door kits provide new closing bolts as part of...

    timc1967's 110 slow project

Finally, at least on the outside this pup is mostly looking how I want it and need it. The charming Dave of Landyglass was over today and fitting his panel windows and new leccy windscreen. The project will continue with the interior trimming but these windows are great inside and...

    timc1967's 110 slow project

Been driving it today and yesterday. Its running great. Amazing since it hasnt been on the road for 2 years I have been working on trimming the rear interior sticking in closed cell foam and automotive trimming carpet on top. This has been hard work so many angles and surfaces, due to the rear...

    plate says 3050kg logbook says 3449kg ?

I just hit a problem with my 110's MOT as the test station wanted to do a Class VII ("seven") MOT, a bit of a shock, and searching here I found this post: I phoned DVLA and they suggested I show them the log book which on mine reads 3499kg, which I believe is Class VII. Coming home I found...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Changed oil and filter (200tdi) first oil change I have done for 10 years. Only got 4 litres out, but got the full 7 litres in, dip stick looking good. Must have been low, certainly lot of oily bits underneath -probably do sump gasket next time I change the oil.

    Sound proofing (another thread)

Don't mean to wake this zombie thread (its not too old) but today I am going to Rubber Matting, Rubber Extrusions, Rubber Sheeting - Coruba to decide between their EVA closed cell foam sheeting and their Styrene Butadiene rubber regarding floor and walls of the hardtop. I am planning to glue...
