    Home made cubby box

Definitely use padding/wadding then wrap in whatever. Denim would look interesting, but best really to match your seats if you can.

What have you done to your Landie today.

I had something similar in my 300tdi discovery a while back, really good to have a built in sat nav, and probably quite easy to plumb in a reversing camera too? I believe you can set the resting angle of the screen.

    New Landy

Mine is a company van. Its great getting everything as a deductible, it has saved me loads having spent thousands rebuilding it and modifying it to be how I want it. And all I have to do to is use it for client visits (which I wanted to do anyway) and occasionally for incidental private trips.

Bulkhead corrosion: what should I do?

Rust in this area doesn't start due to a hole in the paint - these areas rust from the inside and as said above is likely to be more widespread than what you see.

What have you done to your Landie today.

I hope you know the trick to leave the nut on the final few turns then pull! If you remove the nut, when the wheel let's go you end up with your teeth attached to it rather than to your gums.

    Refurbed Defender doors

I thought about a set of SP new doors but with paint as well it comes to > £400 per door and I need 4 of them so the refurbed doors all in for £1000 ish seems worthwhile consideration. Series doors on a 92 defender 110 CSW would in my opinion hit the resale value, and this is staying standard...

    Refurbed Defender doors

Got my blue Defender 110 with doors in a sorry state. I was looking on ebay and some second hand doors are basically price of new; occasionally you see a bargain in the £150 region but they all have rust. Then I saw an ad for Donor Defender UK they refurb the doors and rebuild them and I...

My marsland v8 galv chassis came with td5-style rear crossmember - they make them all like that.

radio comes on when ignition off

The radio would have a live feed even when ignition is off to hold the station memory. As you had an issue with the CD is it plausible that the unit is faulty internally. This is just amateur deductive reasoning, I have no relevant experience of the issue.

EFi Issues driving me to Carbs.

That's a torment. 16 years ago I traded my beloved brown metallic 1989 range rover 3.5 for a tin box because of uneven running, cutting out, hunting. I was afraid of what might be a complicated sequence of process of elimination. I was young and ignorant. I'm not so young any more.

What have you done to your Landie today.

It was at this point about 20 years ago with my Series IIa that I realised this is serious and I didn't want to do the work on the landy myself any more.

Gone green to red Guys, High 5 to High 3

My 89 has a smooth roof. I guess it could have been charged but it came with history that mentioned a lot if things but not the roof.

Turbo Charging a V8 advice needed

I thought everyone recommended auto for big V8 power, but on a land rover I don't understand it, as the gearbox can take the torque on low range which must be far greater than using on high. Hence, big power V8 predominantly used on road in high range - don't see the issue. Having said...

    Buying defender with 2" lift

I bought a bargain one with a bad chassis on ebay then paid for a chassis swap. Overall it cost more than £3.5k, and 8 months of waiting, but now I know that rust and a few other things will not be an issue for the foreseeable future.

Gone green to red Guys, High 5 to High 3

That peculiar dash is the same as the one for north american spec from 1990 ish, I have a book containing magazine articles with all the variants. Vent flaps were sealed shut due to air con facility apparently.

How much and which for central locking and a security device

Re the detachable steering wheel, I bought an aftermarket wheel and boss on ebay for about £60 delivered. The seller also had detachable bossi for £30.
