What have you done to your Landie today.

Drove it today at speed and it feels really stable on the new 265/75/16s on wider wheels, compared to the old 7.5s. At 70mpg it was totally smooth - I am now wondering what was wrong with the old BFGs/wheels, as there had been a wobble at 70 or more; probably wheel balancing was out. Also the...

    Defender steering wheels

    Defender steering wheels

I got this one for mine: LEATHER STEERING WHEEL & BOSS KIT FIT LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 110 130 200 300 TDI | eBay The dish of the wheel brings it very high, especially with the long boss kit but I like it, and it was cheap enough to take a punt. I have about 8 inches of knee room with it, before...

    Defender v8 worth fixing?

There isn't inherent value in the V8 over the diesel, and it will put some people off. Perhaps take a look at eBay for the prices they are making - auction bids show what people are prepared to pay, rather than buy-it-now or classifieds. Have a think about how many hours work it will take to...

What have you done to your Landie today.

All done and obligatory test drive completed. There is no rubbing on full lock, seems to be less sway on the bends due to the wider stance, and *cough* barely any arch protrusion. I got these from tyres direct in luton delivered for a great all in price and fitted them myself this morning...

What have you done to your Landie today.

I haven't fitted them yet but they shouldn't because they are 35mm further out, 70mm wider, hence should be in precisely same position relative to suspension.

    Anyone seen these fixings before

I recognise those so I just spent some time searching on google but came up with nothing. Are they also used on the grille mounting to the front panel?

    Anyone seen these fixings before

Maybe they take a headlamp light guard

What have you done to your Landie today.

Got my new wheels and tyres so will be fitting them later. If anyone has not seen the difference between 265/75/16 and 7.5x16 see pic. The new ones are on 16x8 deep dish (ET-35) modulars, the old are 16x7 modulars so I hope to pop them on, no reduction is steering lock, but will protrude 3 to...

    Bonnet soundproofing

If we are talking about alternatives to the under bonnet, I put noisekiller's bell housing blanket on mine. Its a V8 so the engine isn't as noisy, but I fitted their underbonnet stickon kit, their front kit which is bulkhead, floor and seatbox panels and the bell housing blanket. The blanket...

285 75 16 tyre and modular where to buy?

If you can wait until Friday I should be receiving 4x 16x8 et-32 black modulars with enduro at 265/75/16 for £500 delivered. Seems too cheap but will share pics if interested.

    Looking good?

It does look good. Getting new calipers on my defender so I am inspired to do them. What paint is used? I imagine calipers get hot.

Wheel offset question, not the usual question

I believe 0 would push the wheel out more than +8, giving more steering. Negative offset would push out even further.

    4 x 31x10.50R15 AT's on Rims

Thanks, still interested but pictures tell all - please add them when you have a mo. If you can get the back where the sizing is shown that would be ideal, incl width and ET (offset).

    4 x 31x10.50R15 AT's on Rims

Interested, although Bristol is some way away. What offset are the wheels? Did you try them on your Defender? If so what is the protrusion beyond standard eye-brows and towards chassis?

    Steering wheel removal

Maybe a bit on penetrating oil down the splines? Puller can't be necessary surely.

    1992 110 csw

2nd row door fixed window glass missing - been quoted £60 for a new pane, so will be looking out for a used on.Still looking! Fuel and temp gauge read maximum all the time, battery gauge reads zero. Turns out a prev owner blew the gauges converting to LED backlights. I confirmed this by...

    Door bottom repair costs??

I am sure I will get some incredulous comments from respected lz veterans, but my local landy bloke said it would be approx £300 per door, drive in, drive out. I contemplated buying new, but after adding in effort of transferring the moving parts, possibly replacing channels and painting them...

    Defender 110 anti roll bars

This is a useful conversation as I plan to fit anti roll bars to my 110 at some point.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Finally fitted the cloth front seats purchased from LZ member 2 weeks ago. Made it feel luxurious so I cleared out the back to make it tidy.
