Does anyone adjust tyre pressures in snowy/icy driving? Up or down?!

Hi all My supports for my bottom tailgate are at the end of their life. Has anyone done this? Any tips/advice on how to go about it? Will do the ones in the tailgate as well as the ones on the body. Josh

Thanks Martin. Despite being hooked up to my mates huge battery in his XJR I think it was electrical power - possibly because the leads weren't heavy duty enough. The AA soon had it going with a set of heavy duty leads and their truck battery.

I only do about 3-4000 miles per year so I'm not fussed about Diesel - unless you are implying that the V8 is a set of problems on its own? I thought them to be fairly robust?
