before bidding on a replacement gearbox...double confirm if it's the clutch that has gone.... - put it in gear...start the car....if car can be started....clutch gone...power from engine not getting to the transmission - put it in gear...start the car....if car jerks and can't be...

Yes the car does....but dont drive in diff lock for long distance on normal circumstance. When diff lock is not selected, you have 3 open differential (front, rear and center), hence any lost of drive to any one wheel will cause all power to be delivered to that wheel....so selecting diff lock...

To start with, please give us more information: eg. Discovery 200tdi/300tdi/v8/td5...manual/automatic? To start checking the problem: - check if transfer box is still engaged at 4H, then put in gear - if no drive still, engage diff lock, then put in gear - if no drive still, most probable...

my 97 300tdi doesn't have a gasket...

I have a Midland in-car set wired in permanently and work very well. I've also got a portable handheld to be used when I get away from the vehicle. The handheld set also comes with a lead to connect to the car's 12v and a mag mount. But frankly, the reception for the handheld when used in car...

took me 5 hours to replace the transfer box last time......and 3 days a mate took......so, hard to tell...pending on how much time you spend on brew...!!!

- replace front prop from spare disco.......if it doesn't cure - swap transfer box from spare disco....they'll fit....

Hi Dan_Vtec....I've got the tool thebiglad mentioned........if you need assistant in sorting out the crank pulley....give me a shout.....could come give you a hand if needed.......I live at Batley do make sure you have new bolt and new woodruff key as well......made a mistake for not using new...

if your engine is running and the crank pulley is not turning, most likely the woodruff key between the crank shaft and the crank pulley has gone. I am now basing on I've done to my the 300tdi late last year when the woodruff key gave way, eating away the woodruff key slot on the crank shaft as...
