Freelander 1 What are these wires for?

The single plug to the left is for an external temp sensor, used by the FBH The 2 plugs to the NS of the car, are for the FBH itself

    Freelander 1 Manifold Inserts

That looks exactly the same part, with a different coloured o-ring. Is there much of a price difference?

how fast do these go ?

I need to find a stretch of private road The last time it was on a private road, it breezed to 110mph, and was still pulling But then it's not your average Freelander :D

    Freelander 2 remap

I remapped the wife's 2.2 Freelander. Currently running 185bhp, with a healthy chunk of extra mid range torque. Makes a huge difference to the driveability of the car, less lag, better economy, and much more :D 3rd gear pulls like an absolute train

    Is there such a thing?

I have 2x 3 door parcel shells in the shed, both with complete fittings kits... Make me an offer ;)

Freelander 1 td4 runs a couple of seconds when switched off

Thanks Trev Hasn't turned a wheel since the guys from LRO were up in May. Breaks my heart to walk past it every day and jump into the Disco. I don't think I'll be keeping hold of it much longer :(

Freelander 1 td4 runs a couple of seconds when switched off

Sticky relay for the engine management. Seen this a few times

Freelander 1 custom exhaust time ;)

Smoother airflow out of the turbo, less turbulence ;)
  9. D

Freelander 1 custom exhaust time ;)

Either 2.25 or 2.5" bore, dummy cat, no centre box. Small rear silencer, so it's not too noisy

Freelander 1 custom exhaust time ;)

First of all, is it a TD4, L Series or 1.8?

Freelander 1 Right... I'm not scrapping it... I will bring live back into her...

Depends how desperate you are. I have a 3 door shell going spare once I have taken some bits off it later this week. No gearbox, IRD, Diff, Turbo or fuel tank cradle etc Engine is buggered, and missing cam cover and HPFP...

I would just like to say

Until the main shaft splines wear Or the cam belt throws itself off Or the prop ujs disintegrate Or the wheel bearings collapse Or the chassis/bulkhead/foot wells/door pillars falls to bits :p

Thinking of buying a landrover 2 130k miles ok or no?

We bought a 2010 GS from auction with 128k, for £6,100 Needed serviced, front wheel bearing, and rear pads/handbrake were seized. All typical faults Just be wary of noisy power steering and noisy rear diffs, as well as noisy flywheels

[SOLVED] Has anyone removed a td4 engine lately or going to very soon?

I'm currently breaking a TD4 Externally, the cylinder head has been damaged, but everything else is there, and all good, if you need anything :)

Freelander 1 FREELANDER 1 (1.8 Petrol) Vs TD4 Freelander (Diesel)

The TD4 auto is painfully slow. 0-60 in something like 16 seconds... Standard 1.8 comes up in 11.8, which is a few seconds quicker than a manual TD4... Economy wise, the 1.8 will see high 20's, with low 30's possible if driven gently

Freelander 1 FREELANDER 1 (1.8 Petrol) Vs TD4 Freelander (Diesel)

K-series only failing is the head gasket, which is easily, and relatively cheaply solved TD4 is more expensive to fix when it breaks, but otherwise, cheaper to keep in fuel

    Oil Leak :(

Could also be diesel. Fuel pump/filter assemby lives in that corner

    1.8 exhaust differences

Manifolds are different, late one has a pre-cat, early one does not Downpipes are different, late one has 2 bolt fitting, early is 4 bolt Cat's are different, late comes as part of the downpipe, early can be replaced alone Centre sections are different. Late has 2 bolt fitting, early is 3 bolt...

custom engine cover an battery cover

I had my doubts firstly... HG was done by previous owner of the Rover, due to an oil leak VCU was replaced by previous owner, as preventative maintenance Best basis for this project :D
