started Saturday and not finished yet, nearly all the time spent was removing bolts that had been put back in where the heads were rounded and hours and hours spent trying to get the crank pulley bolt off, my mate eventually did it in about 2 minutes with an impact driver. ( I had to take the...
Hours and hours I spent trying to get the crank nut off. Got a friend round with an impact gun, first go off it came :) :) :) .
catch 22
I need to sell the landie so I can afford to buy the proper tools to fix her. :)
After spending nearly all weekend on it, I still can't get the crank shaft bolt undone, I've:
put it in gear and had someone on the brake while i used a bar to move the wrench (can go one side of the engine bay to the other)
tried a hammer on the bar when I've got it as far as I can

Anyone know where i can get a set of bolts for the timing case and water pump, even before I started I could see 1/2 the bolts were rounded off. The ones on the water pump were a pig and a half to get off and I've eventually managed to loosen all but 1 of the timing case bolts, Not managed to...
Been on here a couple of days and the advice so far has been fantastic.
Here she is a 1968 series 2a on a galvanised chassis with a 200 DI engine.
main issue is what to do first.
my current thought is to do the timing belt as I have no idea when that was last done, or am I making a mountain for...
Our new series 11a has a 200 td engine in it, but what is doesn't have is a radiator fan.
I've been told that the 200 engine tends to run cool , but even so should I get one on ?
would only be able to mount one on the front of the rad as there is no room behind.
Just bought a series 2a again, not had one for over 12 years, have had a classic range rover instead up until about 5 years ago.
can someone point me in the right direct for a service schedule including which oils go where, to refresh my memory.
I've just bought a series 2a with a 200tdi engine without the t,
I asked the previous owner when the timing belt was last done and I just got a blank look.
I've just been on to paddocks and the kit for defender is different than the discovery, without taking everything off is there anyway to...
Hi I'm Shadyadie and I used to be on landrovernet, but for the last 5 years I have been landrover free UNTIL last week end when I saw a series 2a for sale on a galvanised chassis.
So I am now back in the world of repairing a landy every weekend.
