Sorted the bullet connector for the fuel pump, loaded up most of the spare bits and drove it the 180 miles home. Relatively trouble free, it seems to want to stall when slowing down at traffic lights/junctions.

Took 3 different trains to get back to Bournemouth to go and get it off my mums drive. Took it for a quick spin to make sure everything was OK and then promptly called the RAC out again with a suspected knackered fuel pump. Luckily it was just a dodgy connection on the bullet connector. That's...

Took it in for the MOT, failed on drivers seatbelt frayed and worn UJ. :( Still not bad considering it's been sat on various drives for 4 years. Then I broke down on the way home. :mad: Luckily the nice RAC man bodged a fix for me. I thought it may have been alternator or starter related...

Has this been sorted yet? I'm currently at my mum's in Bournemouth to move my rangie up to my dad's work in salisbury. I could stick the mig in the car and stopin on the way back to Cornwall if necessary. So long as the car move goes smoothly.

New dizzy, leads, plugs, and coil and started her up for the 1st time in 4 years. :D:D:D:D

Given up on the welding I've got someone else to do it. Refitted both rear wings and the ally floor, so many rivets. Swapped the 8 spokes and knackered 7.50 r16 tyres for some standard landy steels with 205 AT's. It looks stupid now, was too dark to take photos. Snapped the door handle...

I've got a light reactive one, the lack of straight lines on a lot of the welds is partly my inexperience and partly even with the welder at it's lowest it still seems to want to melt the metal away. It's only £200 130A Draper.

I know the feeling, got a bit more done today then ran out of gas. :( So I swapped the rear shock bushes for Flo flex ones, PU'd the fuel filler panel back to the wing. Swapped the battery's out for a new pair and reconnected the fuel tank. Told you it wasn't pretty but I'm getting there.

Too busy welding for pictures, will try and remember tomorrow. Oh and technically it was my 1st time welding with the welder actually working, so although it's welded it's not pretty. :o:o

Fixed the welder, then welded the left rear wheel arch to the floor panel and half the right arch. Then spent the rest of the day cutting up patches ready for tomorrow. Finally getting somewhere :)

Still in Bournemouth, I'm popping back when I can as me Mum's getting fed up with it.

Jotamastic'd the rear of the chassis, refitted the fuel tank and replaced rear shocks and springs.

Well after all the helpful replys I did some googling and it's gone down to Stunning Services a local landy specialist. :D

Can anyone recommend me a decent welder in the Bournemouth/Poole area? I've been let down too many times by friends that say they can do it. I can't do it myself as I've moved down to Cornwall and my Mum's fed up of the car taking space up on her drive. Thanks
