The white socket you have should connect to the switch by your right knee and to a feed on the back of the instrument panel (black connector, top left at the back of the instrument panel)
From your white plug, there should be an extension loom for RHD cars that has a...
You can get Recaro custom mounts for the Freelander (post 10/2000) from Germany but they are £180 per side, plus the cost of a seat (405mm x 275mm centres on the mounts, so not just Recaro fit them). The pre 2000 ones aren't in stock anywhere as far as I can see.
Others have modified the...
I've got a Pela Pump but it doesn't like working on its side. If I had enough clearance (Ramps or pit) I could have done it in about 3 minutes. Modifying the barn to include ramps is on the agenda.....

Where are you based Kieran? I'm in Dorset and have a commercial floor in my barn that I will be using as a template as I want to make up a partial floor bed for the front of the load bed. If you're in the S/W you're welcome to pop by and take your own template from it.
As a friendly Land Rover parts manager once advised me:
"Al, if you think your D3 costs a lot to maintain, you REALLY don't want a P38 - they're a frigging nightmare!"
Common problem on Freelander and always NS caliper first. You can get replacement slide pins for under £10 if the caliper itself is still retracting ok.
I got some from Matford Land Rover a couple of months ago - plan on fitting them over Christmas.
If you're quick there's a ridiculously cheap set on ebay.

Worth buying for the switch and wiring loom alone!
