    Defender 90 roof rack alternitaves

Why would anyone want to sleep on the top of a 90? Get a proper tent and an air bed.

    DIY foot well mats

Yes, I found wearing wellies and the thick rubber foam backed floor mats, made it awkward for me with the pedals. I prefer bare metal floors.

    DIY foot well mats

A bit thick for the drivers footwell? I have taken all the mats out of mine as well, I think the green paint looks better and the water is easily mopped up or runs out under the doors :-)

    Chequer plate rear load liner

Why ? It's difficult to clean, just get a rubber liner. No fitting, take it out to clean, no rust :-)

    JLR problems?

Poor management, over exposure to diesel products, dependency on USA then China, I'm not surprised.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Removed all sound proofing from footwells/bulkhead and started stripping off the double sided tape used to fix it originally. Tape is foam, soundproofing is foam backed, guaranteed to retain water and help rust-out the floor. Footwells look nice and green and shiny, apart from said rust. Water...

    Has anyone lowered a LR?

Probably cheaper to modify the garage, lowering might cause insurance problems.

All I want for Christmas is no water leak - help please on Defender 110

I've stripped all the rubber mats out, sprayed the footwells with WD40 and parked on a slight slope. That way the water runs out under the doors.

    lining and insulating a defender

I took all the ply wood and sound insulation out of mine. No more rust traps. I hate plywood and sticky tape, looks awful.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Taken the sound proofing off the seat boxes and cleaned some of the sticky-back tape off, sounds the same, looks a lot nicer :-)

    Picked up a nice one.

Get rid of the alloys, spot lights, chequer plate, County stripe. Put it back to standard :-)

hi , hopefully bying my first landrover..running costs i worry about

A Fiat 500 to a Defender, excellent, you will love it. I hated the Fiat 500 I had to drive for work. I scowl at every one I see. I smile and wave at Defenders. Go for it and don't worry about insolvency, you can sell the house ;-)

    300TDI FUSE BOX

My fuse box is the same as that in the photo. Water seeped down the back of it and on rough ground some of the fuses worked loose. Sorted the leak and cleaned the fuses and holders, rarely happens now. Cost zero.

Useful info for 200tdi and the mot exhaust emmisions

My tdi 300 1997 Defender has a sticker with 1.68 on it and passed recently at 1.2. Does anyone with a 1997 Defender have a photo of the unmodified EGR fittings in place? I was told it had been removed but it seems to be intact, may be blanked.

    Clunking noise on rough ground

Thank you, going in for service and MOT in October so I'll get it sorted then :-)

    Clunking noise on rough ground

The deflection in the middle of the track rod is about 5mm. I put spacers under the bracket to adjust it's position. The knocking has nearly gone, it only happens on very rough ground and now I know the cause, I don't worry about it :-)
