    Freelander 1 WATERLESS COOLANT

Antifreeze will last a long time unless it’s diluted because of a leak, But the corrosion inhibitors are the main problem As after a couple of years there depletion will start to cause corrosion, especially on engine’s with Dissimilar metals Aluminium head/ iron block,

    Retrofit aircon 300tdi discovery

That’s interesting, mine was an early 200tdi and definitely came from the factory already fitted, but cannot be sure of the later types,

    1993 90 TDI 200 -. Getting to the starter...

Earth point from chassis to engine always very suspect, I had a sticking solinoid on one of mine And short sharp thump with a bar and Land Rover tool no 1 ( hammer) sorted it out,

    Retrofit aircon 300tdi discovery

Hi and welcome, I would assume that getting a bespoke system fitted instead of try to source all the bits would probably be More cost effective, there are a number of companies in this country that will fit aircon to vehicles that haven’t Had it fitted before, so once again I would assume you...

    Steering arm removal

Looks good but I would have put the nut back reversed before putting the box in the press, To stop any chance of the threads being damaged ( crushed)

Disco 1 Confused with the brakes should it not leak all out

You are right about the 200tdi having twin pipes to the callipers, but that looks suspiciously like a brake compensator valve for the rear brakes, the fronts should feed to the valve then the master cylinder and the rear brake pipe goes to the compensator to reduce pressure under heavy braking...

Disco 1 Confused with the brakes should it not leak all out

I would check from the master cylinder metal pipe down to the flexible pipe on the drivers side and see If it’s crushed, if not damaged unscrew metal pipe from flexible union under wheel arc and see if you can get fluid to flow, if you can then your flexible pipe is probably blocked,

Disco 1 Confused with the brakes should it not leak all out

Need more information, Are you talking about front calliper? Is there two flexible pipes going to the front Calliper? Or just one? Do you have ABS? Is yours a 200tdi V8 or 300tdi? And specifically what pipe appears to be blocked?

Disco 1 Confused with the brakes should it not leak all out

Yours is at a change over point, from 89to 94 you should have four pot callipers on the front with two pipes and two pot on the rear with one pipe, Also a break reducing valve for the rear, the later 94 on is likely to have ABS and only one pipe going to each calliper Would be helpful to give...

    What's this?

Often used as a inline air filter as well so worth checking the other end to see where it goes,

    Discovery 1 arch extension experience?

Unfortunately I don’t have experience of that modification mine is completely standard and will remain that way, But the doors are all Aluminium skinned on to steel frame so not sure how you could possibly weld them, But I’m sure someone will be along to suggest away of doing it, my guess would...

    Discovery 1 arch extension experience?

Your wings are aluminium so rusting won’t be a problem just the usual corrosion using disimilar metals,
