    Series 3 Side light fittings

Like I say, switch and wiring all checked and working. Investigation at each light unit revealed a problem at each one. Unlikely I know. I happened to be out and about in Surrey today so detoured by Dunsfold. I picked up 2 new wipac brake / rear side line units. talking to the guy he (like you...

    Series 3 Side light fittings

I can't guarantee I was gentle fitting the bulbs the first time as I hadn't realised the holders were quite so soft, so this might well be the issue. I think I'll try some more wipac units (at least cost and availability is reasonable) and some different bulbs. I'll look very carefully at the...

    Series 3 Side light fittings

Thanks chaps. It's the plastic channels that align the bulbs which are chewed up. I managed to get the fronts working again but just driving around seems to be enough to rattle them loose. One of the rears won't even hold the bulb at all. Has anyone tried the bearmach versions?

    Series 3 Side light fittings

So, MOT failed.... Both side lights inoperable. Strange, they worked when I left for the MOT station about 4 miles away. Get home, the rears don't work now either. All 4 side lights out.... can't be 4 bulbs gone, shirley? Check all the wiring / switch - fine. Have a look in one of the front...

    The internet

I'm with Rob, if a company can set itself up to disburse illegitimate fines to people and the DVLA are prepared to facilitate this for 3 quid an address (or whatever it is) then it's open season on Swansea's database as far as I'm concerned.

    The internet

The DVLA will sell you the address if you supply the reg number. It's how parking enforcement firms know where to send their ''fines'.

    Shackle pin nuts

I'd probably just take the new pin to a nut & bolt shop and match up what you need. Must cost a fortune buying that sort of thing by part number.

Price others have paid for resto?

Had a similar journey to the MOT place on Monday! Combination of not fully insured etc as not MOT and it being the first drive since I've dismantled it and put it back together. No dual carriageways, thank god. :D

    SWB re-chassis

Evening chaps. Right, well I've been back to the garage to collect him and find out what else needs attention, there are a couple of things- 1. Serious pull to off side under braking. No surprise here, I told them so! (MOT fail item) 2. Lack of steering lock on 'right hand down'. Slightly...

    The internet

I know what you mean. I'm paranoid about theft from reg based location identification and have edited my photos suitably. On the other hand, we drive round on full view of the public so you can't be completely in control of it.

    SWB re-chassis

Sorry for the radio silence in the last few weeks, I'm having computer trouble and can't upload photos. I've been beavering away, completed the let few outstanding bits for the MOT and dropped him off for the test. That first drive was bloody terrifying. I've just stopped for pint and bowl of...

    Seat choices

That's exactly what the last 4 years feels like :(:rolleyes: @Bobsticle the Mrs reckons that she can manage the needle and thread work if I supply the material ready to go on. If that doesn't work I am genuinely enquiry whether you might consider it?

Superb. You don't fancy doing another wheel in that yak skin do you? ;):D

    Seat choices

****ing hell! I thought a bit of leather on the steering wheel might be a bit OTT :D I'm not a fan of the diamond stitching but the brown leather looks great. Workmanship looks middling to average :D:D:D
