Snaggapuss - I managed to get 10 litres for £40, which I thought was quite enough. But, having seen the oil coming out, I'd rather spend another £40 than have to change the box if it fails. Freespaña - yes, the motor filter was quite full. I'm a lot happier now that these things are getting done.

JD - the oil it needs is 3309 ATF which apparently allows the box to select one gear and slip another so I think the cleaner it is, the better. I'm doing another fluid change (10 litres) because after the first flush, I'm still not happy at the colour of it, it's still dirty. STV - it's done...

I'm not sure what you mean. How can draining some out and refilling cause a problem? If I don't take some out, I won't get more in.

I also found an annomaly when I rebuilt my R380. Pretty sure it was to do with 4th gear. Something was opposite from the manual. I seem to remember that I rebuilt as per manual, since there was deep groove being worn on the gear. I've had no problems since, but then, there were no problems...

The rear bolts can be accessed from under the carpet under the front seats. They are all accessible from inside the cabin or front wheel arches and front bumper, if you ever need to lift the body. You may need to cut a neat slot in the carpet for access. I ripped my carpet but I was scrapping...

Why do you need to lift the body? To remove broken bolts in the middle? You should be able to access all of those ones from inside the cabin, if I understand you correctly.
