You will have the HP22 gearbox. The gearbox probably flipped into "limp home mode" due to a fault. It has happened to mine and it locked into 3rd when it did. Wouldn't pull away. It resets when the ignition is turned off then on. Think you are on borrowed time. Slipping clutches maybe.

It can be increased to 1.3 bars. JFearne tuned diesels to run at this amount of boost with the M51 engine. It needs the right chip of course and preferably a larger intercooler. With this setup it should give 190-200bhp and 350Nm. The Mitsubishi turbocharger will not however maintain this...

I don't think revving the engine in neutral is the issue. I think it is revving it up and putting it into drive at high revs. I would guess the clutch packs would slip giving a fault message.
