Hi guys, Sprang a leak at the ACE block on the rear half high pressure pipe to pump. It was a little corroded and I believe the leak was expedited by the vibration caused by the cheap britpart front half (that doesn't have dampeners), which I recently installed. Turns piout all four pipes...

Seems to have been oil In the ECU loom, which is a surprise but makes sense.

Hi mate. I don't have a Hawkeye/Nanocom if that's what you mean? May have to take her to a garage. I'm gong to check the wastegate actuator, loom and anything else I can think of today. Was kinda hoping for some vague ideas to investigate, but you're right, I should get it tested!

Hi guys. After replacing engine I'm getting engine cut outs on idle and 5-10 sec cranking before starting again. Also at around 2800 revs power begins stuttering and can't be pushed any further (most noticeable at high speeds, but can feel it at very high end of acceleration in low gears too)...

Have you figured it out yet? I had similar experience last year, loss of power and a thud, pulled over and then ran extremely rough. Got recovered, then every time I started it got increasingly worse, eventually failing to start at all. I had a screeching noise develop when cranking. Literally...

So the lesson is - fill the pump with fluid before priming!! Pump working now. Thanks for all the advice guys.

I haven't really touched the block itself as only thing I did was replace the front pressure pipe which connects to the pump (and then to another pipe which connects to the block). Also lately I've been trying to prime the pump, so its only connected to the reservoir... I will try filling the...

I should also add that it was packaged exquisitely! Yeah all three pumps make that noise. I took one of them apart to inspect and can't seem to find anything obvious - actually all looked pretty good

Massive thanks to @backinblack for sending his old pump, but frustrastingly still no joy! That's three pumps that aren't drawing fluid through. Reservoir full and connected to the IN, nothing blocked, outlet banjo disconnected. Prime attempt - Pulley disconnected and wound by hand = no fluid...

That's so helpful mate, thank you! I've just checked, and It's only around £15 to have DPD pick up and deliver, which is pretty damn good. What's the best way to exchange details on here?

Hmmmm that would be amazing, but yeah, we're far away! I could send a courier (DPD) to pick it up if you don't mind printing a label, wrapping it in something and sticking it into a box? I can send you a bit of cash for it too... But no worries if not - as sierrafery says, there are working...

Ahhhh new pump it is then!

In the latest series of things that have gone broke broke on the long road to discovery recovery... The high pressure ACE pipe (from pump towards block) got sliced by the crankshaft pulley (I put it on the wrong side of the coolant hose after dropping engine back in - oops). Ordered a new one...

Already replaced and up and running! I only just got around to dismantling the old engine and wanted to share what I found...

So I finally got around to taking the head off/inspect the cylinder/ bearings on the old engine! It's not pretty... Most of the shells on the first 3 conrod/bigends have been destroyed, but cylinders/pistons seem ok (although I'm going on purely looking at them). I'm still going with the oil...

For the record... I had actually installed the clutch plate the wrong way after all. The plate goes in so that the protruding stub faces away from the engine, which is opposite to most other vehicles (and looking at my photo that's indeed the case, but difficult to see through the pressure...

Hmmm that makes a lot of sense. Bugger. Really don't fancy lifting the engine out again. Easier to drop gearbox? Thanks for advice

There was a small gap, more so bottom of bell housing, probably half inch or so that the bolts pulled in...
