I'll second that. I'm 21, 0 NCB, with a 1975 88. Lancaster was £250, the nearest quote from another company was over £2000. Only just insured with them so don't know what the customer service etc is like but seems good enough so far.

im fine with them checking it over, id rather they did and any stolen property was returned. i know how horrible it is when something you worked hard for is taken by someone who refuses to do the same. is there a way to find the original id or would they give it a new one? didnt expect anything...

Yeah it it coil sprung. Certainly looks like it is a newer model with a new identity, can't think why someone would go to that trouble and not have the identity match the body though. The plate I've checked is in the engine compartment next to the clutch master cylinder. Is there somewhere else...

thanks for all the ideas guys. if i bolt the rails to a sheet of metal and then bolt that metal to the original holes will it be ok if the whole thing is resting on the 4 nuts on the back of the metal sheet? currently on the bottom of the rails there is an angled bracket that could be drilled...

I think that will be the plan of action. Unfortunately means the seats will be sitting in my lounge till I can find someone who can weld. I don't mind, they are comfier than the couch :-). The mrs isn't too chuffed tho.
