quick check for whether it is fuel or ignition (aa man tip) is to spray brake cleaner down the carb intake as it ignites better than petrol. if the engine fires - either on the crank or the starter - then dies it is a fuel issue, if it doesn't fire it is ignition I know you say fuel is getting...

someone gave me a tip once, remove the drop arm from the other end - leaving it attached to the column - and then you won't need the special tool I was swapping the bulkhead though, not fiddling with the steering

I just leave ours open, less there is going to be a heavy downpour - showers and light rain don't seem to matter - then I just rest the roof back on without fittings

lost a rear cylinder, dot 4 all over the back of the wheel. got a couple of fronts in the box but no rears, iirc the bore is bigger on the front cylinders. can they be used on the rear?

same thing happened to my s3 a few months back. I got replacement black bolts from Ashcroft transmissions. haven't drilled out the remains of the old bolts yet though :D did get a used diff to get the truck back on the road quickly
