    Freelander 1 Overfueling

Easy, it changes depending on the amount of wear on the big end bearings. The more wear, the lower the swept volume. However, the effective swept volume, which is indicated by the amount of gas pulled into the engine does change, depending on engine rpm, valve timing, and manifold efficiency...

Freelander 1 could be an expensive weekend

Yes, I did. But I have no intention of exposing an esteemed member's use of his member in mixed company.

Freelander 1 could be an expensive weekend

Oh gosh, I see your problem - a metal bar going right across your back. By why do you have asian characters tattooed on your back?

Freelander 1 could be an expensive weekend

Sorry, by direction I mean left or right. Not forward or reverse. With the pump not turning (by taking the belt off) if the valve is faulty the steering will be equally heavy turning right or left. You could also try it by getting up to a reasonable speed, put it in neutral and shut the...

Freelander 1 could be an expensive weekend

Yes. It is rare fault, but I have seen it before. If anything, it felt notchy/sticky in one direction at times.

Freelander 1 could be an expensive weekend

Could be the control valve is stuck or blocked in one direction. It is built into the rack and provides the power assist. Way to check would be to take the accessory belt off and see if it now steers the same, both ways.

Now how would you know that?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Sunroof all working nicely - thanks in part to GrumpyGel's stock. However... Hoodlining is detaching from backing in places. So ... I have relined 3 before, advised numerous people not to restick the lining, and not to use spray contact. So I used spray contact to restick the lining in...

Freelander 1 Return of the (Land) Rovers: Kilo-Hippo-Delta

    Road Tax changes from 2017

How do you achieve zero emissions over there? Here is NZ 80% of electricity is hydro or geothermal (with a touch of wind) but any marginal generation comes from coal or gas. So every extra EV plugged into the grid will add to coal or gas consumption - 100% fuelled by dino products.

Too much time on my hands

I sort of agree. The ECU will not have the output the ABS, HD and TC want. But you can run the old ECU in parallel (only needs power and TPS) to provide the ABS input signal.

Oh, that's rough. Anyone knows that a Freelander will go further off road than a disco. Thanks to the superior performance of the VCU.;)

Freelander 1 V6 HeadGasket - what tests to run

Don't overlook the contribution from moist air being drawn into the engine via the crankcase ventilation system. If the oil does not get up to close to 100C it will separate out and condense in the slightly lower air pressure in the engine. In the good old days of low temp engines, no...

Not sure that he is physically capable of doing that. But he will talk about it.

    Newbie here from the USA

I used to have one of those, now I find a Freelander to be much more suitable as I have matured - and quite fast enough as well (when it is going).
