Fetzer valve - soak it in some Quaker state and gauze pads. If not it, check your roof trim. At 70 it maybe enough to pop it up and cause a flap.

Look at this link: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/BMW-X5/06-FUEL-M62_8_Cylinder_Throttle_Housing_Replacing/06-FUEL-M62_8_Cylinder_Throttle_Housing_Replacing.htm Look at Figure 8. You will see the small hose on the MAF that goes back on the side of the Driver side valve cover. Look...

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

I don't think you got it right. The hose that comes off the throttle body - passenger side goes to the fuel purge hard hose then purge valve. The hose on the MAF boot goes to the plastic hose that runs to the back of the engine - the 2-3 inch rubber piece of hose goes over the small nipple...

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

Incorrect. That small plastic pipe goes to the nipple on the intake boot. Looking at the boot, the left side goes into the MAF and then bends - goes straight - and bends about 90 degrees to fit over the throttle body. At the second 90 degree bend, just before it is fitted over the throttle...

I am a bit confused. If it is the hose that comes off the throttle body it goes to that solenoid/valve I mentioned earlier. If that is not it - I think you have some hoses plugged in wrong. Here is what I think. The little hose you have plugged into the big hose (the one that attaches to the...

Sly was asking. In his pictures he asked about a hose that appears to come off the throttle body. Maybe he figured it out.

The mystery hose - goes to a hard shaped black plastic hose that goes to a rubber hose that attaches to a solenoid type valve on the front of bank 2, upper timing cover. It kinda snakes around. I believe it is the fuel purge valve.

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

Sly - I think the solution has been found. The lack of washer did not allow you to put the proper torque on the gasket to create the needed seal. Fortunately you can fix this repair, one nut at a time, and avoid removing the valve cover. The hose you are asking about - where does it come...

    1) Can you post pictures? I want to make sure we are on the same page. 2) Are you getting leaks on one side or still on both? 3) Can you see the oil leaking from the gasket? 4) Do you have cracks in the valve covers? 5) Did you check to make sure the valve cover is not warped? 6) Did...

Put a flat edge on it at various points and make sure valve covers are flat or put them on a known flat surface to check for warpage. If they are warped that is your issue. I have a set of spares send me a pm if warped. I have had mine on and off countless times and have never had a leak into...

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

Did you use new gaskets the first go around - specifically the inner one? They should not leak if new and installed correctly. As stated above they press in to the groove. Take a wire brush and clean the groove out well as the original paint flakes bad with age. Using a small amount of...

    sat nav issue

My player is Part No. YIB 5000050, HW:1.2/S.W:3:2 so it looks like a match. It was in the truck for about 6 months before I swapped it for a Nav IV. It worked when it was pulled - that is all I can say. It will fit in a United States Postage Service Priority Mail "Medium Flat Rate Box". It...

I have to get my daughter to a soccer match today, futbol in the UK, but when I return I will dig it out of the garage. I will then send you the part number and any relevant info to make sure you want it. If Wazzajnr will bring it for you that would be cheapest and easiest. I should be able...

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

Okay - I pulled a head out, installed the check valve in backwards and tried to install the Vanos Distribution Piece - it will not sit flush as the check valve sticks out too far when backwards. So you could not have installed anything if the check valve is backwards. If you forgot it, how did...

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

Before tearing apart your engine I would first swap your camshaft sensors, swap your Vanos solenoids (or at least connect 12v to them and see if they click) then try moving your timing wheel (this requires only the valve cover removal on the offending side and removal of the oil lines on top of...

    sat nav issue

Can you provide pics? As an interim solution can you just unplug the satnav so the battery doesn't drain? Is Redhill in the UK? I am pretty sure I still have my old unit (Mark III I think) I could mail from Minnesota, but if in the UK it would not be worth it. If you know anyone stateside...

Your unit may be shot. The laser alignment goes and it keeps trying and trying. That is my guess. I would swap out a Nav IV and upgrade the SW.

If you have not done the Valley pan and associated hoses - then pull the entire manifold and do it at once. I would use the URO valley pan - superior design and less expensive.

    2004 L322 Petro 4.4L Camshaft control Bank 2 fault.

The check valve behind the vanos could fall out if the o-ring is worn, but it is not really under any pressure when the engine is not running. Did you put a new o-ring on it? The o-ring is the source of resistance when pulling it out. I don't think that this is your problem - maybe if you...
