FURTHER UPDATE - gave up trying to remove the armature from the bearing, ground off the distortion on the end of the shaft from hitting it, fiddled the brushes back to replace the end plate and put it all back together. Used a little vaseline on the seal which made it a little easier to move...

EAS is working fine, but over the last couple of days it occasionaly makes a heavy vibration when the pump runs. Sometimes it's quiet as normal then the next time it starts it rumbles so you can hear it in the car. Seems to be producing air as the car goes up and down as quickly as normal...
