The 16v thing is not correct, I have the same reading on the nanocom for my '98 4.6 Gems. As far as I remember it was something in either early engine ECU (or BECM? not sure), but I read somewhere - poss the nanocom manual - that it always shows the 16v no matter what. I'll try and find it . ...

How far did you dis-assemble the compressor? Did you take the end plate of the motor off so the brushes extended out of their slots - did you manage to get the brushes held back so you could get the end plate back on? It's bloody fiddly, but if you just pushed the end plate back on hoping...

Are the lenses amber or the later clear ones?, don't think I've ever seen amber ones 'wearing thin', the colour goes all the way through. The amber bulbs in the clear clusters however are prone to their orange lacquer falling off . . . I've had to replace them for just that reason. A

Well - isn't the Nanocom a wonderful thing! :D As planned, I corrected/changed the French/LHD/auto, reset the alarm (locks activated) entered EKA and hit disarm, wrote settings, exit nanocom. Tried it and - Bingo! It started and everything working again! :D:D:D Set windows etc., synched key...
