What did you do with your Range Rover today

Horrible stuff:eek:. I think mine had been made worse by some crappy dashboard cleaner/re-finisher being put on top of it. I've been gradually taking it off various surfaces but have yet to find quite the right thinners/spirit to properly remove it. Some just make it stickier.

And two remarkable things: I didn't see another P38 (and only three series landies) and I didn't see any bad driving:confused:

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Came back from the weekend in Wales 800 miles, 27mpg, Pootling around the lanes and lots of fast on the motorway. Best car I've had:) and only one spurious beep with no dash message. Just to keep me on my toes...

Evenin', Took the old jalopy to a really good bloke in Kelso. I'd been beaten by the top bolts on the rear shockers, so his guy did that. Good job too. He cleaned all around the mounts and stuff and painted it. While it was on the lift, I did the auto box filter and fluid (and Lucas transmission...

    P38A Water Pump

At last! The carriers 'lost' the first delivery so Bearmach sent another one out yesterday. I eventually got a pump this morn. Quentin Hazell one doesn't have metal impeller after all. Got it all back together and just then the carrier arrived with the first one. Last time I had...

Seeing as it is such a carry on to bleed, suggest changing all the fluid. I did mine a couple of months ago. Absolutely by the book is the only way, and that needs two - and lots of fluid.

The Quinton Hazell one has a metal impeller. £44 inc vat. Going to try that one

Yeah, I know. Grundig, Roberts Radio. I was sorting out my stereo the other day and found that my ('British Designed and Engineered') Tannoy speakers were made in China...

    P38A Water Pump

There's a Quinton Hazell one at Bearmach that I'll have a look at... That used to be a good make. Its been pretty hot here recently (even in Scotland!). Well 31 anyway...

    P38A Water Pump

Right. Well I don't have a viscous fan either. That's given me pause for thought. The only time that the temperature goes up (usually!) is when sitting in traffic on a hot day. That is, at idle or low revs. So probably not so good with a metal one. And I know the idea of plastic is not good but...

    P38A Water Pump

Thanks. That'll be the one then. Perhaps when the remaining bit of crappy plastic comes back round it'll mash it up and sort that problem too!

    P38A Water Pump

Looking about for a replacement it seems that most of them are. Going to all this trouble I'll put a metal one in if I can get one. Have to wait till tmoz, make some phone calls.I agree tho'.(should be bronze;))

    P38A Water Pump

There are some sort vanes or channels lead away from where the pump goes in - stuck in there. I'm away for another rake about, see if I can find the last bit

Found a bit more of it...:)

    P38A Water Pump

Checked rad, thermostat, and then this. Think this might be the cause of the overheating... What worries me is that I can't find the missing bit of plastic. Is this going to get wedged in the cooling system somewhere and cause problems? Or perhaps the plastic is breaking up so...

    P38A Beep beep beep

Yeah, that's what I suspect but can't understand why there is no message?

    P38 'WINDOW NOT SET' error

I don't know about the rear ones not working, but to re-set the front ones fully open then fully close them. This should result in 'windows re-set' message.

    P38A Beep beep beep

Morning all, Curious (spurious?) beeps. Recently, just now and again when driving along, I get the 'beep beep beep' as though a door is open. No message shows and I can't see or feel anything wrong. Am I right in thinking that there are two different sounders? The deeper, more threatening one...
