    P38A Injector not sealed properly?

I've been having some bother with leak off pipes (separate post). Now sorted I hope, replaced with decent Gates pipe. However, the last time one went the well around no.1 injector filled with fuel. I replaced the pipe and mopped up the spillage. Fired it up to see all was well and noticed...

    P38A Wash wipe - here's a strange one!

Here's a strange one. I've search Rave and can't find even a clue! When I turn the key to position 1 the wash wipe comes on. The cycle can be cancelled by moving the stalk but then wash wipe(s) won't come on when I press the button(s). Can't find anything with Nanocom either...🤔

    P38A Spill off pipes.

Thanks again for your help. Gates pipe ordered. Haven't done the flow test yet, don't know really how much I should expect to get. Presumably it increases with revs. Can't think there's a duff injector 'cos it runs smooth and sweet (even when ****ing diesel!)

    P38A Spill off pipes.

Thanks Keith, So is it possible that there is a pressure build up, or does the FIP take in the returned fuel, according to throttle position, and then any excess returned to the tank?

    P38A Spill off pipes.

'Morning all, spill off pipes leaking again! Thought I had them sorted and then another one goes. Question is - might there be a pressure build up? should I be able to blow through the return pipe to the tank? (ie is it just an open pipe?) And why does it go to the banjo on the FIP first...

Sorry, I missed what the problem was originally but I'm intrigued... which wee green sensor? sounds like a magic fix!

    P38A Glowplug timer/ temp sensor

Yes please! I have previously done the FIP adjustment using dial gauge and nanocom, quite a faff. Not sure either how to identify and remove the hot fix... nothing obvious to see

    P38A Glowplug timer/ temp sensor

'Morning, The previous 2.5 I had, glows would not come on once the engine was warmed up. This one, they come on every time regardless of engine temp, and when I got it I was told 'always wait 'till the glow plug light goes off before starting' Has the timing of glows been messed with? Is this a...

    P38A Radiator Woes

Hi Nick, I have no affiliation to either of these firms but can highly recommend getting a Nissens radiator from Arksglobal. The one for my 2001 2.5 DT (part no. 64309) was £108, and delivered in a couple of days.

    P38A Voltage drop?

Thanks for your replies. I've done what you suggested Kermit. Yup! 14.7 very briefly, then back to 13.8. I think this is a classic case of me suspecting that there's something wrong when there's not! Comes of years of having a P38 I suppose  Both batteries are fully charged most of the...

    P38A Voltage drop?

'morning all, excuse long post - trying to give all the info. I have a second battery and split charger fitted. When the second battery was charging the voltmeter (on the second battery) used to show 14.75 v and when the main battery was charging a meter showed 14.75 too. All good. Then I...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Drove 350 miles down M1(A1) in the pishing rain on Thursday and back on Friday. Average 33.2mpg. Pleased with that:). I wasn't looking about that much due to horrendous conditions but have to say how few interesting cars on the road. Saw a Triumph Herald and only one Series Landy. Didn't see...

P38A No power after replacing FIP seals

The adjustment is so minute that even scribed marks lined up are not quite accurate enough! Nanocom proved its worth again tho'.

P38A No power after replacing FIP seals

Thanks Keith. Put Nanocom on it and found that the 'current fuel quantity' reading was far too high ie 29.6. We loosened the cover and tapped it towards the bulkhead until the reading was 4.5. Idle note changed slightly to an even smoother tickover. Even tightening the cover screws up caused the...

But if it starts etc. as described then the seals job has been done okay?
