    Bleeding clutch...

The correct answer was indeed the master cylinder. It was a no-name one and it has been launched across the yard into the scrap pile. New TRW cylinder fitted and clutch now 100% Lesson learnt : dont buy cheap crap for things you want to work....

    Bleeding clutch...

Nope....still the same. With bleed nipple on slave open pedal pushes fluid through. Close nipple and pedal goes to floor but fluid comes out vent hole on reservoir cap. Tried using one man bleed kit there... attached to tyre with 20psi. No air in system....

Wiper arm removal - what's the trick?

Sometimes if you start the wipers then use key to stop them mid-sweep you get a better view of the tab. Other than that .... brute force.

    Bleeding clutch...

Afternoon. Trying to bleed clutch.... New master and slave cylinders fitted and fluid right through to slave. Pretty sure all air is out now but when I press the pedal fluid comes through the tiny air hole on the master cylinder lid. And pedal has no / very little resistance. Could it be a...

    Axle swap

Thanks for answer. After much searching I'm going to keep the twin pipe calipers and make a bracket that can take the 2 hoses, mounted onto the single hole on the chassis bracket ... If that makes sense.

    Axle swap

Bihex bolts. Don't really want to drill any holes in galv chassis to mount twin pipes.... If I went to single pipe then here is a bracket already her. That's the only reasons why I was considering changing...

    Axle swap

Putting early disco 200tdi front and rear axles onto my defender 90 so I've discs all round. The disco axle has new twin pipe calipers on the front. Is it possible to use them, I guess with a splitter somewhere or would I be better selling the calipers and buying single pipe defender calipers...

    Propshaft too short ...

Went to fit the new propshafts this morning and the front fits but rear is way too short, even fully extended until you can see a couple of inches of splines it won't reach. What's happening there then, can anyone shed some light on the subject please? Do I need to run with discovery rear shaft...

Mounting brackets on shiny new chassis not lining up ???

I wonder if it's different mounting brackets I need to bolt on. The ones I'm using are off the original gear/transfer boxes and I got them galvanised. Maybe def 200tdi ones are narrower....
