Howzit fellow kiwis Andy here from culverden north Canterbury been a landy owner for 20 yr only had 2 series 3s in that time this one is a 73 88 with a 2.3 l 110 engine with 3.54 diff's ,goes really well, mainly used locally

cant help with why your speedo is like that , but taking off the mechanical cooling fan will get the engine up to temp faster in winter time, 3 mile trip would hardly be enough to heat it for optimal fuel burn .and your mixture screw was way out too

weber carb is very fussy about clean fuel, did you blow all the jets out well? also could be coil, also fuel cut off solinoids on the carb can play up if its a defender type dtml

The weber 32/34 on these can give the same symptoms when the main jets at the bottom of the fuel well gets blocked easy fix just pull em out and clean,and check if gauze filter in inlet nozzel at carb is not stuffed

thanks steve have just done a good run with the K8 kit, goes well need to tune with strobe light, any ideas what advance i should have at 2500 3000 rpm

Hi there anyone running power spark kit in ducellier dissy have been told the kit needs the VAC advance disabled don't think it would run well though any ideas cheers Andy
