TD5 Wont Run up to Temperature After New Rad

Water circulates from start, bleed screw on top hose will flow from the beginning. Putting the heater on will bring the temp down slightly. The gauge appears to be working, as it changes in line with what you would expect. My only thought is that I have the thing plumbed in wrong.

Discovery Box in a TD5 Defender, my experience

I think towing (alot) with a stock 300 may be an ask, unless you changed your tyre size or tweaked the engine. I also think a bit of a paradigm shift in the way you (I) drive would need to take place. These days it seems people (someone I work with) expect to be able to leave a vehicle in 1...

Discovery Box in a TD5 Defender, my experience

Good morning everyone. I thought I would share my experiences since fitting a discovery transfer box to my TD5 110. I had been deliberating over this for over a year, and eventually decided to source a box and get it stuck on at the same time as the a clutch and DMF renewal. I found some...

TD5 Wont Run up to Temperature After New Rad

Right, sorry I have been trying to figure this out with a few other things (disco transfer box and new brakes all round) (another post later). Since my last post I have flushed the system and fitted a genuine thermostat, which has made no difference. I am now running a front rad muffler just to...

    TD5 Front Wheel Bearings

Jamesmartin Thanks, that makes sense as they fit well, just seemed odd I had to pinch the thinner nut from the rear wheel bearings set. The thicker ones with the collar don't fit, which I guess makes sense as they are fatter and we have added an extra nut the the TD5 equation. @banksy...

    TD5 Front Wheel Bearings

Evening all. I am currently working on my 2000 td5 font bearings. The old ones taken off consisted of a spacer, tab washer and lock nut with a small collar on the outer edge. I was advised that the spacer could be removed from the equation by acquiring a thin nut (without collar), lock tab...

TD5 Wont Run up to Temperature After New Rad

Thanks guys, Im fairly confident the sender does work at is shows temp if i give her beans. Heater does not work (unless giving it beans). I will get a digital temp reading of lower and top hose and report back. My old local Indie fitted the rad, been back once and they pointed to the thermostat...

TD5 Wont Run up to Temperature After New Rad

Hi Guys I have been battling with this for a few months. I changed out the original (leaking) radiator for an aluminium replacement (not Alisport). Since then I have been unable to get her up to temperature, unless I am giving her beans going up hill on a motorway. I have changed the...

    Dash Options

So the raptor dash could have a slot cut in it to fit around the bottom rail of the dash ? I would assume that would limit you to only being able to use switch gear or gauges on the bottom panel as opposed to CB or radio ?

    Dash Options

Is there anyway a raptor dash can be fitted without hacking the bottom dash rail ? I have been considering one for a while, but having to cut the bottom rail puts me off, as well as the loss of air through the dash flap...

    High powered rechargeable torch?

LEd Lenser P5R is a good little rechargeable torch, I had one and lost it and have struggled to find anything that matches it. Not the brightest nor the longest lasting but it is practical, fits in a pocket or clips on a belt (about the same size as a leatherman)...

    Hello From Salisbury

I did, I know him from the exploration that he did in parts of West Africa (he was also from a farming background). Spent a fair bit of time exploring a lot of Southern Africa a few years ago, wouldn't mind taking the Landy there myself.

    Hello From Salisbury
