    Nanocom not reading boost

Solved :) When doing some other wiring for my new gauges and lightbars and things, I completely removed the old boost box I had still connected up to the ecu, just earth disconnected as I didn't need it with the new ecu map from Alive. Just thought of it yesterday might I have forgot to plug...

    Nanocom not reading boost

Changed map sensor and still the same. Also getting a Driver Demand Problem 1 which would suggest something up with the pedal maybe. Accelerator tracks are all showing fine at around .7, 4.2 and 4.6 volts though

    Nanocom not reading boost

Yep, was thinking as much but wasn't sure where it got the reading. Obviously, it gets ambient pressure from the small sensor from the airbox... Was half asleep this morning and now that I think of it, if it got a reading from inside the manifold, it wouldn't be ambient pressure as it'll already...

    Nanocom not reading boost

Ambient pressure is reading about 100 at idle regardless of map sensor connected or not. Mihht try swapping the map sensor for another one I have from other engines and see if any change

    Nanocom not reading boost

Just wondering where does the nanocom get its boost pressure signal from? Mine has stopped reading it and just showing zero even though it's boosting fine on my mechanical gauge. Wondering which pin on the ecu does it get an output from or maybe I've a MAP sensor that's on the way out which...

No power to Ciggerette charger and radio

Solved!!! :) Somebody in the Defenders past had chopped the wires off the feeds for the fuses behind the panel and hidden a new online fuse for the radio and 12v power behind it! Working now :)

No power to Ciggerette charger and radio

Yea, 16 and 17 for me too. It's a '03. Hazards and everything else works fine. Just no power to fuse 16 and 17. Have power to all the others and everything in the fuse box under the seat

No power to Ciggerette charger and radio

Accidently shorted my the wires to my ciggerette charger yesterday and that died as well as the radio. Checked the fuses on the panel in front of the gearstick and they're fine but there's no 12 power to the fuse now either. Wondering is there a second fuse or a rely somwhere that gives power...

Diesel knock when reving after start up

No, didn't get new codes. Used the ones that were on the injectors already. Will find out about new ones :) Haven't done much in the last couple of weeks as have the dash and everything stripped out wiring new lights, heated windscreen and new radio and cb and things but nearly finished that so...

Diesel knock when reving after start up

That's true. Fine on an old diesel with a mechanical pump where bigger injectors can be an advantage but not really sure how much of a gain they are on a common rail with an ecu looking after everything. Yup, injectors clearances all done when fitted them. It's pretty much idiot proof to mess...

Diesel knock when reving after start up

As in ecu fueling or mechanical timing with rocker shaft being very slightly out?

Diesel knock when reving after start up

It idles perfect. Left it running for about 15 minutes once was happy with it to fully warm up while I made sure cooling system was bled fully There's no white smoke, just black when give it a shot of throttle. I have another set of new injector washers so I'll anneal those and see if they...

Diesel knock when reving after start up

Sorted my TD5 after the injectors failed and blew my headgasket. Got them fully refurbed and he also put slightly larger nozzles on them given that my engine is tuned abit. Stuck them in, coded them and fired it up and it runs very nicely and really smooth in fairness. Only trouble is if it's...

    EGT sensor

cool, thought as much but just looking for a second opinion for peace of mind :D So if set the alarm around the 500-550 mark so or a little higher if wrap the turbo, it should be safe enough :)

    EGT sensor

Have a madman EMS2 I'm wiring up for coolant and fuel levels, temps and pressure and few other things as well as EGT. Trouble is the EGT probe fits the standard manifold nicely into the EGR blank but due to having an Alisport manifold on mine, I don't have anywhere to fit the probe unless I go...

    Britpart Swing Away Wheel Carrier

offroading is no problem with a swing away carrier. having an oversize spare on the door hanging off the factory carrier is a disaster though and will rip your door apart. Even the standard wheel isn't great on them really.

    Tdi or td5?

Late TD5 hands down as nicer interior, quiter and far more powerful and refined engine especially if modded but get a decent drive in both and then decide

TD5 fuel temp sensor thread size?

Fitting an EMS2 to my 110 and want to monitor the fuel temp and pressure with it. Not sure if I can splice straight off the OE sensor for a reading to the Madman from that or fit an extra sensor with a T-piece. Anybody know what thread size the fuel temp sensor is to get one ordered rather than...

    Changing 90 clutch

If not doing it on a lift with gearbox jacks, removing the engine is far easier. I done it by removing the gearbox on my old 110 as had to change the gearbox after the layshaft bearings failed. My dad's pressure plate failed in his Discovery 2 last year and changed the clutch be removing the...

    TD5 oil leak by turbo

I had alot of oil around my oil separator valve too as it started leaking when my engine was giving very bad blow-by and popping out the front cam seal from the head, it was so bad! I've a Mann provent catch can now fitted after the fresh build to keep things all clean. Isn't really much oil in...
