Disconnected the battery for half hour. Still working with key but not with fob, took headlining down and visual inspection, no corrosion and earth appears to be alright. Will have to try replacing receiver.

Wiring CB to earth under the bonnet, suspect the battery came disconnected for a short period and this caused immobiliser to come on. Only added an earth for the CB to existing earth but after that it all went to pot.

Maybe you can help me Dave. Immobiliser kicked in Thursday and I had to get recovered. Managed to get engine mobilised again using the key to input the code in the door using the manual remobilise method. Now remote locking doesn't work with either fob. I've searched and tried leaving it in...

Your remote locking working now? If so, how did you manage it?

Got towed home with the alarm blaring and all lights flashing yesterday. Quite distracting really when being towed.

Was hoping to possibly tag along this week. But the garage has been busy sorting out Nij48's "issue" on my disco, which means none of the work it was booked in for had been done. So I will have to miss Sunday :(.

I wasn't suggesting it! There is only one Defender, it's iconic, dependable and not complicated. Derived from Series'. Everything it should be. Having all these gimmics takes everything away from the Defender that makes it what it is!

That's what it reminded me of!... Like the toy generic 4x4s you get with action man.
