    Wipac LED light conversion

It's not the resistors that stop the issue it is diodes.

That's how they got rid of mine....

    Bloody rain!

Well I've added the full face shield to my VAT free Machine Mart Clarke order ready for Sunday so that should sort that. Queue small violins........ Managed to do the offside trailing arm but it was a close call so will leave the last two bits, the radius arms till it's dry and my eyes are...

    Bloody rain!

Thanks. Yesterday I got the panhard rod bushes and lower rear trailing arm bushes done. I went to the pub quiz in it last night and the handling has been transformed already even without the other side being done or the radius arms...... Just mega ****ed off about not being in a fit state to...

    Bloody rain!

I sent several hours last night in hospital getting home at 6am having got a piece of metal in my eye from using the grinder. It managed to get past my safety glasses so now I have that to contend with as well as the rain. I can't even leave it because one of the lower rear axle arms is poly...

    Bloody rain!

Well I managed to change the oil & filter, air filter, fuel filter, panhard rod bushes, refit the steering guard and do the rear nearside lower suspension arm bushes....... Tomorrows jobs are the rear offside suspension arm bushes and both the radius arms. All the other jobs are electrical and...

    Bloody rain!

:D It wasn't taken off just to do these jobs. I reasonably assumed I'd have a few fine days and realistically the "outside" jobs are 2-3 days of them..... A frame, damper and service should be doable in a day likewise rest of bushes plus another day for issues..... Anyway just about to go...

    Bloody rain!

No I thought I would have a nice long break and during that break I would do these few jobs which should have taken 3-4 days at most. The ground is wet but the sky is blue and the forecast is for no rain till 6pm today so hopefully I can get the remaining bushes done today and if there are not...

    Steering Box Repair Kits

Brilliant, sounds like a plan then as it's newer and half the mileage. I'll be doing the same with the engine eventually too but thats another thread :D

    Steering Box Repair Kits

Thanks. I have a 300TDi disco for spares which I believe has the wrong drop arm but if I order the correct drop arm and rebuild that one (so I can take my time over it and even paint it etc) would that go on my 300Tdi Defender?

I wouldn't be surprised if there was!

    Steering Box Repair Kits

Thanks. Thats why I gave it the caveat that it was something someone told me. I have a rebuild kit here. Is it worth doing then? How easy are they to actually get apart etc.... Any special tools?

    Bloody rain!

I'm in a vastly better position than those people who have lost out due to the floods but..... I took ALL my leave in one go giving me 6 weeks off including the public holidays and some other days owed and it's been raining the ENTIRE time. I had a few jobs to do: A frame ball joint All...

    Defender temperature gauge problems :(

James this is what I've found.... The temperature gauge requires a ground. The input for the gauge is a resistance to ground i.e. the sender is attached to ground and its resistance changes depending on the temperature. The gauge has an input of whatever the voltage is between about 12.6 and...

    Defender temperature gauge problems :(

The gauges take their ground through the body of the gauge! You need to make sure that the gauge bodies are grounded or they read silly amounts and act in a random manner. I installed large O rings around the gauges in order to stop them rotating and it was that that caused the issue. I now...

    Roof rack mounted spots.

Doesn't that cause a potential water ingress point from the snorkel? I have a roll bar style light bar with 2 side firing lights, 4 spots, 2 fogs, CB coaxial cable, centre point cable and FM aerial cable. All the cables go through the bar itself which bolts to the roof. I have all the cable...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild (Round 2)

At least see what people are willing to pay for it as it is. It might be worth selling like that instead of putting everything back.
