    Td5 no power

I'm talking about the MAP sensor and the AAP. If the AAP is disconnected, the ECU controls the pressure at 0.9 bar. If the MAP sensor reads wrong, the fueling calcs go all funny and it feels like its gutless. Alot of more modern vehicles seem to use the MAF for fuel calcs, but this one seems...

    Td5 no power

Yeah it is. Often I've found its the MAP sensor. If you measure the output, idle should be about 2v if I remember corectly. Full load was about 4.3v (1.2bar) I think. Don't count me on those figures, but its a start to the diagnosis.

    Changing ecu

Yeah, does sound like it. I think you can get the pins, even the female ones.

    Td5 no power

MAP sensor can also cause gutlessness. Also, check that your Ambient Pressure sensor is connected correctly too. Had this a while ago with another TD5.

    Changing ecu

Was there oil in the loom of the new engine? (in the connector that is mounted on the head to bring the connections outside of the head). If so, don't mess about, get a new injector loom and keep cleaning the oil out of the red ECU connector, this can also be the cause for funny injector codes...

Electrical issue and sound of exhaust blowing

Wow, thats really really bad! Nice hot exhaust gases being fired right at the cables, I'd check that the intake pipe isn't torched too! Glad that your ok and found the issue though.

Td5 losing puff or is it me?

Had a similarish problem with someone elses D2 TD5, was fairly gutless and found the MAP sensor was faulty. But yes, I would also recommend that you get a boost gauge to see exactly whats going on, diagnosed so many issues with my own vehicles just by using a boost gauge. Normal maximum...

    Disco 2 D2 splutter

Yeah the oil will take a while to empty out, I took mine off about once a week for a couple months and cleaned it out with brake cleaner. Seems good now. Are you sure you don't have a slightly stuck turbo actuator too? The movement should be completely free throughout the stroke length. If...

Disco 2 Using water, ideas please?

Have you checked the main pipe going into the cylinder head with the temperature sensor in it? Those leak all the time, take it off, clean up the crusty crystalised coolant, get a jubilee clip and do it up FT! :) Also, how much is it using?

    Discovery TD5 Throttle Lag

MAF has been replaced and checked with Nanocom (60 at idle, 600 at full throttle) Low, High switch works correctly and tested the HDC button, constant beeping when in high box, not in low. Also checked with Nanocom

    TC lock help

Try disconnecting an ABS sensor to disable the TC, ABS and HDC. It will calculate speed off the other 3 sensors instead. Preferebly disconnect the sensors to the wheels that are of different overall diameter.

    TC lock help

If you have a different overall diameter, then the speeds will read differently. But the overall speed seems to be averaged. However, the SLABS ECU will think that the wheel with a different diameter is spinning faster so will try to apply the traction control to bring the "traction" back as...

    TC lock help

The xj is just the width of the rim. So 7j would be a 7 inch wide rim and 8j would be an 8 inch wide rim

    Discovery TD5 Throttle Lag

This was one of mt suspicions, hence why I mentioned it. But I was curious if anyone else had exoerience this too, seeing as bypassing this switch is so common. And I know someone with a TD5 in Disco 1 that doesn't seem to have any issues and they don't have the switch either, but don't seem...

    Discovery TD5 Throttle Lag

Hi Guys, Been scratching my head on this one for a while now. I've bypassed the clutch switch as this was giving the over-rev issue. When I go to pull away, the engine seems to hesitate to build revs when pulling away, but once the vehicle is moving, the throttle response is what I would...

    Anyone ever used these guys?

Was wondering if anyone has ever used Wreckin 4x4 before and if they are any good?

That sounds like the exact box section I used.

Disco 2 Advice on sill repairs

I actually made them slightly higher on mine, wasn't on purpose, but it actually worked out quite well either way. You could add tree sliders to these if you really wanted (as in custom built ones). But MY GOD they were strong :D:D Leave as much of the inside part of the sill as possible...

Disco 2 Advice on sill repairs

No I did exactly this on my old D1 and it worked beautifully. I used 3.6mm box section and capped the ends. Bought new mounts from easy on panels where required and welded them on where needed. They took a beating off road and never EVER saw a dent, only paint scrapes.
