    The stop solenoid is on the injector pump but the 200tdi might be different from the 2.5n/a anyway. Its on the end of the pump with a wire going to it.

    I'd have thought starter motor, heater plugs and stop solenoid. You should have all those bits on the original lump.

    When you do replace it put it in high and lower it as you push it in that way you should sit right.

    Get the original lift pump you took off the engine in the first place and put it lever to lever with the new ones you got and see if the levers are the same length

    Are you totally sure that the lever on the lift pump sits correctly on the cam........you might need the spacer in the kit.

    Yes you're going to have to post a load of pictures and let us see what you're talking about. The series number should be towards the front of the dumb iron , the defender one is slightly further back more hidden by the tyre. Also pics of the interior, suspension and bodywork.

    If they reckon its the original chassis repaired, ask to see what bits they did you should see weld marks, and where they replaced the front dumb iron if they say that's why there's no number stamped on it.

    I think the sender has to be paired to the gauge, I got a digital gauge that read too high with the sender on the engine hence all the hassle I had in another thread.

    Are you absolutely certain the voltage stabilizer is ok......maybe its working intermittently, there are 2 terminals one for the fuel and one for the temp. is the temp one loose?

    This is the air filter you need, took me ages to track one down when I needed it but here you go........only cost me 6 quid though so might be worth shopping around...
